We have an incredible opportunity for a Senior Systems Developer to join our Corporate Systems Development team, based in Darlington on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

The role
This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of corporate applications used within Finance as well as ensuring BAU support is provided in a timely and accurate manner. You will provide insight and analysis and look to highlight issues and recommend innovative solutions to drive improvement.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
The person
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Developer who has extensive knowledge and understanding of systems, with a particular focus on bespoke software development using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, SQL and Powershell. You should be familiar with CI/CD build and release pipelines (ideally in Azure DevOps) and will play a supporting role in ensuring that environments, pipelines and application releases are delivered in an efficient manner. You will have experience in identifying support trends and investigating possible resolutions and will have performed efficient software developments. Previous experience working alongside Finance, as well as previous experience of Azure cloud infrastructure and developing dashboards and paginated reports in Power BI would be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator both written and verbally, enabling you to focus and resolve key and relevant issues. It is essential you are able to work collaboratively to help build and maintain good working relationships with people within the team and cross-functionally. As an experienced developer, you will be expected to take ownership of designated project workstreams and see them through to delivery. You will be analytical in your approach with a keen eye for detail and will have the ability to think innovatively, coach and mentor existing team in an inclusive way whilst sharing best practice with the aim of streamlining processes and producing fit for purpose, bespoke application solutions.
