(Full Stack Developer

Description

Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people.  We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of (Full Stack Developer) within our (IT compute and Storage Department) based in (Houston, Texas).

This position will be primarily responsible for the management of Infrastructure Automation tools (tools.oxy.com), this includes day to day management and operation of the automation tools , access control, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring and updates,  the position will also participate in the architecture, engineering, testing, design and configuration of on premises and public cloud automation solutions, work on or lead team projects in the group including new technologies, upgrades and implementation. 

Additional responsibilities include assessing and remediating of infrastructure automation processes and acting as an escalation point or SME for complex technical issues or troubleshooting.  This includes analyzing repetitive and troublesome issues to determine trends, opportunities for proactive action, and recommendations for continuous improvement.    

This position will also provide support, mentoring, guidance and technical development (seminars, documentation, instructions) to other IT staff, including working with others one on one and in group settings.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems
• Strong development skills and Infrastructure automation through scripting and DevOps CI/CD, such as: PowerShell, Python, Ansible, shell scripting etc. 
• Experienced in Front end programming with HTML and angular.
• Expert in python programming. Complete understanding and knowledge of the gunicorn framework used in tools.oxy.com. Strong debugging skills and analytic abilities.
• Full understanding of networking automation using ansible , PowerShell and other tools.
• Full understanding of server build /configuration automation using python and other needed scripting languages.
• Expert knowledge of API’S and full stack development. Expert knowledge in templates and templated data used in web development.
• Expert skills in Microsoft Azure DevOps, Terraform and similar tools.
• Knowledge on AWS and other cloud environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and facilitate improvements based on root cause analysis  
• Self-starter with the ability to manage projects and other tasks under minimal supervision. 
• Must be a team player, with exceptional communication skills, willing to work with others in the group and the rest of the IT organization 
• Ability to identify and implement initiatives to improve the IT environment. 
• Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications

• Working experience in Oil & Gas industry.
• Knowledge on data center environment and servers including blade servers from HP and Dell with shared enterprise storage
• Knowledge on monitoring tools such as Solarwinds or equivalent Windows server experience including 2008R2, 2012R2, 2016 and 2019 ..etc.
• knowledge of storage technologies (NAS, SAN, ISCSI and Fiber Channel protocols).
• Experience designing and implementing public cloud-based solutions in Azure and AWS
• Knowledge on managing VMWare ESXi Hosts with multiple vCenter servers
