    • Medical-surgical nurses collect client health data.
  • Diagnosis
    • Medical-surgical nurses analyze the assessment data in determining diagnosis.
  • Outcome Identification
    • Medical-surgical nurses identify expected outcomes unique to the client.
  • Planning
    • Medical-surgical nurses develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implementation
    • Medical-surgical nurses implement the interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Evaluation
    • Medical-surgical nurses evaluate the client's progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

  1. Provides on-site supervision of nursing and patient care staff.
  2. Ability to function in charge nurse role
  3. Performs patient rounding at the discretion of the manager.
  4. Assists staff with problem-solving, education, and equipment training on an as needed basis.
  5. Evaluates staffing plans with the charge nurse.
  6. Identifies operational issues, staff performance problems and/or educational deficits on the designated shit and propose corrective action plans for resolution.
  7. Assists with employee scheduling of weekly time and educational offerings.

 

 

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelors Degree in Nursing required certification in specialty preferred.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Some areas may require a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Experience: Graduate of RN Program
