Software Quality Engineer

We currently have a career opportunity for a Software Quality Engineer to join our team located in Livonia, MI. Qualified candidates will have 3 - 5 years of experience in QA practice with a heavy emphasis on Automation framework and script creation. This is a hybrid role with some time spent at our Livonia office or at a customer site.

• Create manual/automated test scripts by leveraging requirements documentations (i.e., wireframes, and comps)
• Write test cases and automation scripts for web based and services applications 
• Log / manage defects in defect tracking system 
• Participate in standing team meetings 
• Contribute to weekly status reports, interact with clients and vendors as needed 
• Troubleshoot and track defects 
• Build trusted client relationships through proactive account management and effective project delivery 
• Establishes knowledge of client business challenges and priorities to translate into opportunities 
• Maintains regular client communication and satisfaction, ensuring opportunities and challenges are addressed in a timely manner
• Helps deliver presentations to clients and management teams 
• Contributes to project discoveries, kickoff, prepare proposals and statements of work following company standards
• Helps to establish critical path, milestones, delivery dates, and review client deliverables to ensure they meet client acceptance criteria
• Provides leadership throughout the lifecycles of a project, guiding the understanding the project team has through design and development to ensure project requirements are met 
• Helps establish project test strategy, methodologies, test plans as well as assist with test execution 
• Ensure test automation is feasible during development life cycle

• 5+ years of software testing experience 
• 3+ years of experience developing test automation frameworks 
• STRONG Automation experience using Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks and writing automation scripts in Java, Python, or C# 
• Experience with Web Services automation tools using SoapUI, Postman and Rest Assured 
• Hands-on expertise using Selenium and similar automation frameworks is a must 
• Understanding of current technologies and Software Test Lifecycle (STLC) 
• Familiar with JIRA or similar defect tracking tool 
• Previous experience testing API’s (discovery testing, usability testing, security testing and documentation) 
• Ability to read code and participate in code reviews, experience in automating at UI/AP/database level using appropriate tools 
• Knowledge of the technical stack in an n-tier application and the ability to identify different types of testing that can be applied in each tier 
• Familiar with content management systems i.e., AEM, Sitecore 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to analyze business requirements and technical design documents 
• Design, develop and execute Test Cases 
• Experience working with external clients 
• Knowledge of Agile and iterative development methodologies 
• Ability to obtain, understand and respond strategically to client needs 
• Highly detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously 
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills 
• Bachelor’s Degree 

Preferred skills and education: 

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering 
• Experience working in the consulting industry 
• Understanding of complex Internet based enterprise level applications 
• Track record of delivering on time, on budget, and meeting client commitments
