About the Role

HopeLink Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Employment Specialist to join our Supportive Housing Team. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in empowering individuals with mental illness to secure and maintain meaningful employment. Working collaboratively with the Supportive Housing Supervisor and the treatment team, you will assess client needs and skills, develop individualized employment plans, and provide ongoing support to facilitate successful job placement and retention.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary $50,000-52,000
  • Monday -Friday 9am -5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Assess clients' readiness, skills, and interests for employment.
  • Develop person-centered employment plans and provide skill-building support.
  • Assist clients in their job search, including resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Educate clients on workplace expectations and benefits considerations.
  • Partner with employers to identify suitable job opportunities and secure placements.
  • Provide on-the-job support and coaching to assist with successful job transitions.
  • Advocate for reasonable accommodations in the workplace.
  • Monitor clients' progress and provide ongoing support and counseling.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure a holistic approach to client success.
  • Maintain accurate case records and participate in program data collection.
  • Market employment services to the business community and build relationships with employers.
  • Represent the program in agency and community workgroups focused on employment services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Human Services, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental illness in an employment setting
  • Strong understanding of vocational rehabilitation principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport, trust, and positive working relationships with clients and employers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software programs
  • High degree of empathy and a commitment to serving individuals with mental illness
