Job Description

The Assistant Director supports the Director of the Financial Education Center in implementing and managing initiatives aligned with the University's five-year Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) as part of Tarleton’s reaffirmation of its SACSCOC accreditation. The Assistant Director contributes to the Center’s operations by assisting in program coordination, supporting assessment efforts, planning and facilitating financial literacy outreach, maintaining and developing strategic partnerships, and promoting a campus-wide culture of financial wellness.

The Assistant Director serves as a key liaison between students, faculty, staff, and community partners to foster engagement and ensure the success of QEP-related activities focused on student financial literacy and well-being.

This position is in-office located on the Stephenville, Texas main campus with work hours: Monday-Friday; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of the QEP by coordinating logistics, materials, communications, and scheduling for financial literacy workshops, modules, and related surveys and assessments. (30%)

  • Assist with data collection and reporting to support the assessment, analysis, and documentation of program outcomes, ensuring alignment with QEP goals and continuous improvement efforts. (20%)

  • Facilitate outreach and engagement efforts to promote student participation in financial education programming, including classroom visits, tabling events, and social media campaigns. (15%)

  • Coordinate student worker and peer educator efforts, providing training, scheduling, and oversight. (15%)

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships across campus with departments, faculty, student engagement, and the broader community to expand and embed financial literacy initiatives into university life. (10%)

  • Support website and content updates, internal communication, and progress tracking. (5%)

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Director and Center initiatives. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Personal Financial Planning, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Six (6) years of work experience, preferable experience in higher education, student services, financial literacy programming, education, or a related area.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office technology.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field (in lieu of two [2] years of required work experience).

  • Familiarity with SACSCOC QEP requirements.

  • Experience working on student success initiatives.

  • Experience supervising student workers or peer mentors.

  • Knowledge of financial wellness best practices and resources in higher education.

Salary

Commensurate with experience

 

Salary Range

The target base annual salary range is $59,370.00 to $84,311.00 and may be negotiable based on funding
