SUMMARY:  The Electrical Panel Builder will perform assembling and wiring of completely functional control panels for a variety of equipment utilizing schematic drawings.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Must be able to read / interpret drawing and electrical schematics
  • Evaluate drawings and recognize mistakes that do occur.
  • Use drill press, skill saw, saber saw, nibbler, all variety of hand tools including those specific to electrical wiring work. 
  • Be familiar with all of the components used typically in electrical wiring of machines (fittings, types of conduit, wire types).
  • Be able to perform rudimentary tests of the completed panel
  • Be familiar with various types of sensors and controllers and how they function.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Must be able to read and interpret schematics with minimal training – should have a background in electrical schematics so that with only a small amount of help he can be up to speed understanding the symbols that are specific to our industry.
