Senior Systems Engineer

ABSC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to work on-site in Northern, VA.
Duties:
- Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
- Analyze and study complex system requirements.
- Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.
- Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
- Estimate software development costs and schedule. Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improve current techniques. Supervise software configuration management.
- Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
- Develops block diagrams and logic flow charts.
- Tests, debugs, and refines the computer software to produce the required product.
- Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
- Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
- Provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met.
- Apply business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and business process modernization projects.
- Apply, as appropriate, activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods and performance measurement techniques.
- Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures.
- Develop and apply organization-wide information models for use in designing and building integrated, shared software and database management systems.
Required Qualifications:
- An Active TS/SCI w/ FSP Clearance is required.
- Strong background in Microsoft Systems Engineering and providing support to those systems.
- Strong recent experience in Windows platform operating systems (Windows 10/Server 2016-2019)
- Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory suite to include (DNS, DFS, ADCS, GPOs)
- Strong knowledge of virtualization products with a focus on VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vRealize Operations.
- Strong knowledge of storage devices with a focus on Netapp with NAS protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages with a focus on PowerShell.
- Demonstrated strong performance as a Systems Engineer / Architect, developing or implementing information systems with a broad experience base across the entire project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated capacity to understand and communicate technical ideas, concepts, and thoughts across multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
Preferred:
- Technical Certifications: MCSE, VMware VCP-DCV, Netapp NCDA
- Knowledge of AWS and/or Cloudworks
- Working knowledge of Hyper-V.
- Working knowledge CSFC technologies and methodologies.
- Working knowledge of secure mobile platform management solutions.
- Working knowledge of Thales HSM’s.
- Working knowledge of PKI with a focus on CertAgent and Redhat Certificate Authorities.
- Working knowledge of Aspera file transfer systems.
- Current experience in the Sponsor’s classified and unclassified distributed work environment architectures and systems.
