Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant utilizes a broad understanding of the Accounting department's operations and objectives to provide financial data, coordination assistance, and customer service to assigned business unit(s). Demonstrates proficiency with basic accounting functions and has a working knowledge of intermediate accounting functions. Ability to learn and apply regulations set forth in 48 CFR Part 31 and other applicable Federal government regulations.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions. These include but are not limited to all aspects of Accounts Payable. Ensure the documentation supplied complies with contract requirements.
• Process vouchers and expense reports in accordance with Telligen Policies
• Assists monthly and bi-weekly accounting processes.
• Performs periodic account reconciliations and investigates any differences.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
• Provides assistance as required for annual audits. Prepares tax work papers, including 1099's.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 0-2 years of experience OR an Associate’s Degree in Accounting with 2-4 years of experience
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Journal Entries, General Ledger
• Accounting degree preferred
• Experience based on degree level preferred
• Excel Skills preferred
