Product Designer

Summary

Apple’s Applications group is seeking a senior product designer able to bring simple and beautiful experiences to life. As a seasoned designer with a blend of visual and interaction design skills, you will work on expanding a new and already beloved first-party application on our platform. You are a brilliant and proactive problem solver and an excellent communicator with a passion for great design and the ability to achieve it. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of partners to craft features that further delight and improve people’s lives.

Description

From brainstorming through implementation, the Product Designer will work with members of the Applications design team, as well as our engineering, product, marketing, and QA groups. You can quickly grasp and distill highly complex matters into clean, understandable solutions. You are an effective diplomat with strong communication and organizational skills, able to juggle and own multiple features from inception to fruition. You believe your success stems from the success of the team, and are always eager and willing to mentor and support team members.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated creative and innovative problem-solving and a willingness to take the lead where needed.
Ability to integrate AI into the design process and to be able to discern where it makes sense to leverage, and where it doesn't.
A passion and eye for visual detail in proportion, type, motion, and interaction.
Empathy and understanding of how to advocate for user experience with peer teams like engineering, operations, product, and business.
Passionate for Apple, its products, and its customers.
Strength in building new products from the ground up.
Interest in Journal and Books, whether from a product or personal perspective.
A team mentality, eager to ensure the team succeeds as a unit.

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of work experience with a focus on product design and UI across a variety of platforms like iOS, web, or others.
Experience in shipping digital products from start to finish including the documentation and development process.
Ability to clearly communicate concepts and designs through prototypes, sketches, high-fidelity comps, and presentations. Highly skilled and fast in any tools you need to visualize your ideas and deliver the work.
Enthusiasm and history working in an iterative design process, motivated by group critique. Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to present work to large groups and executives.
