Senior Mission Software Engineer, Space
AndurilAbout the role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
As a Mission Software Engineer for our Space team, you own the architecture and deployment of software solutions that support specific customer missions. You expand the meaning of ‘full stack developer’ as you touch backend and frontend cloud components as well as distributed edge compute and raw sensors. Software integration of novel algorithms for space applications within modern and legacy architectures will be required as well as creative solutions to new missions presented by the mass proliferation of satellites on orbit. You will dive in to understand and integrate with legacy systems that have been part of our nation’s critical defense for decades while bringing modern software solutions to the customer problem sets. As a mission capability evolves from crazy-idea to demo to pilot to program of record, you advance the software solution to deliver a real-world product.
This role is directly tied to an ongoing, funded program within Anduril’s Space Business Line. The program requires building and fielding a resilient, software-defined architecture for processing and exploiting Space Domain Awareness data from ground and orbital sensors. We work with mission partners and operators to deploy reliable and robust capabilities on operationally-relevant fielding timelines to meet complex challenges across the DOD and IC.
