The Underwriting Assistant (UA) will coordinate with agency marketing representatives responding to inquiries regarding service and procedure questions. In addition, the UA will work in a team environment to meet service priorities and due dates, while providing reports, data, and other needed information to the management team.

 

**This is a hybrid opportunity, 2-3 days onsite at the Conshohocken, PA Home Office**

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate accounts to determine initial acceptability within the underwriting appetite.
  • Review submissions for completeness and accuracy; make requests for information.
  • Bind and issue policies in accordance with stated underwriting authority.
  • Support a book of new and renewal business, consisting of various accounts to achieve written premium and loss ratio objectives.
  • Provide reports to management as needed and requested.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Risk Management & Insurance majors a plus.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of commercial lines insurance experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to service and maintain strong relationships with agents and UW’s.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates teamwork capabilities.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
