The Fintech Group, along with our business partners in Finance, have made it their mission to deliver a world-class payment experience while maintaining the integrity of HubSpot’s financial reporting systems. To that end, there is a heightened level of trust and care that must be taken in building and maintaining software in this space. 

This team is at the hub of a wide variety of cross-team initiatives that aim to better tie together individual Product and Engineering teams to accomplish their larger, more team-oriented goals. Program management at HubSpot is a bit different than at most other companies. As opposed to a role that dictates how teams should execute initiatives, our project managers rely on relationships and organization knowledge to help teams accomplish their goals. They promote trust by helping teams navigate the complex waters of cross-team efforts.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will operate autonomously to lead the large, complex, high-impact technical projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams both inside and outside of the Product organization, including Product Management, Design, Engineering, Finance, Pricing, Marketing, and Sales departments, to translate strategic visions into actionable project plans that deliver innovative solutions. You will effectively manage and navigate ambiguous projects, leveraging relationships to influence outcomes and achieve project goals. Successful individuals in this role are adept at building relationships and managing ambiguity to drive project success.

In this role you’ll get to:

• Lead the development and execution of project strategies in partnership with Product and Engineering teams, ensuring alignment with HubSpot's goals.
• Design and implement advanced communication frameworks to effectively report on project progress, addressing key performance indicators such as schedules, priorities, risks, and status updates for senior stakeholders. 
• Cultivate and enhance collaborative relationships across various business units, fostering a cohesive working environment within HubSpot.
• Guide and mentor teams and stakeholders through all phases of the project life cycle, adapting methodologies to guarantee successful outcomes.
• Acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of HubSpot’s Product and Engineering structure and culture to navigate and influence organizational dynamics and decision-making.
• Serve as the primary representative of technical projects to senior stakeholders, serving as a strategic ambassador who communicates project vision and progress.
• Innovate and streamline project management processes, establishing best practices that drive collaboration and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrate strategic insight by visualizing and executing scalable processes that enhance operational efficiency and team productivity.

We are looking for people who have:

• Proven experience partnering with product management, engineering, and UX design to lead complex projects within a technology-driven environment, with a track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing multiple complex technical projects with expertise in methodologies like Agile, Scrum, and tools such as Asana and GitHub.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and the ability to manage priorities, scope, and deliverables effectively.
• Experience with directing project strategy, navigating changes, and making key decisions with stakeholder approval as necessary.
• Strong leadership presence that inspires action and assertively drives teams toward objectives.
• Ability to influence, including the ability to advocate for change and negotiate to achieve project objectives. 
• Ability to navigate organizational dynamics, along with the ability to align stakeholders and manage expectations effectively.
• Strong analytical skills to proactively assess and mitigate project risks with experience in maintaining risk management plans.
• Proactive problem-solving approach with a results-oriented mindset to meet and exceed project targets.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, including strong presentation building and public speaking skills
• Proven ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams, handling conflicts and achieving collaboration towards common goals.
• Track record of working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams is a plus.
