The impact you will have in this role:
Being a Director Software Engineering, you will specialize in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Work closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and improvement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that tackle sophisticated business problems.
The IT SIFMU & Risk department supports the development & testing needs of multiple DTCC core business lines including FICC, Clearing & Settlement, Equity Clearing, Wealth Management, Treasury Clearing, etc.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead functional squads to deliver business priorities and scope defined aligning to the budget, schedule, and regulatory commitments.
- Manage one or more functional squad’s resourcing needs balancing short-term and long-term expectations.
- Pro-actively identify risk, dependencies, remove potential roadblocks to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
- Formulate strategy roadmap for the systems owned thinking long-term with a futuristic vision.
- Actively collaborate with the business stakeholders, internal IT partners and other project collaborators during the application development and delivery.
- Support and lead customer interactions, demos and funnel feedback to the senior management ensuring customer centric delivery.
- Encourage and build an inclusive environment of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, talent development and teamwork.
- Build an atmosphere of confidence and trust in the team and empower and mentor team members to deliver squad’s business goals.
- Manage expectations of all relevant key stakeholders (e.g., BU Leadership, Clients, Support partners, etc..) aligning with the business goals.
- Understand and implement DTCC tools and practices.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
Talent Needed for Success:
- Solid technical background and relevant project delivery experience end-end. Knowledge of one or more Business Automation workflow tools (IBM Business Automation workflow/UiPath/Appian, etc..) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of any Database skills and exposure to Full stack development (Front-end/back-end: Javascript/Angular/Java, etc..), Cloud/Container based hosting platforms will be an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving proficiency and/or experience with ability and aim to understand and adapt to new technologies/ platforms.
- Presents information clearly in writing and orally in larger group settings.
- Convinces others on key topics by presenting persuasive arguments and alternative approaches.
- Sets an example for others by personally embracing change; Builds ownership for change by empowering others to lead change initiatives.
- Experience in Agile, CI/CD, DevOps practices and tools.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
