About the role

Description

Production Assistant - Working under the supervision of the MPAC Production Team, the Production Assistant will work in a variety of areas including stage, sound, lighting and video. Production Assistants will participate in setups, strikes, rehearsals, and show shifts for each specific event. They will also assist in equipment organization, maintenance, and upkeep projects.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a theater, concert hall or other performance-related venue - As either a performer onstage, stage hand off stage or a member of the  front of house team

  • Technical experience in the areas of stage operations, lighting, sound and/or video

  • Basic experience working in a backstage environment under direction of a stage manager

  • Familiarity with basic safety measures and practices as it related to performance venues

  • Ideal candidates will be able to read music and orient themselves with a conductor’s score

  • Follow directions and be able to receive on the job coaching

  • Be able to use problem-solving abilities and have a strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism and a pleasant demeanor

  • Wear appropriate dress per day
