Senior Sales Development Specialist

Job Description

Stepan is seeking a motivated and results-driven Senior Sales Development Specialist to join our dynamic North America Customer Care and Sales Development Team. In this role, you will report to the North America Customer Care & CX Director. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets through effective communication and inside sales development strategies. To excel in this role, you should enjoy an entrepreneurial approach to your work and thrive on identifying and creating value for your customers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Generate new business, manage customer relationships, and achieve sales targets in the consumer cleaning and personal care markets.
· Collaborate with internal teams (technical service, research & development, field sales, supply chain) to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
· Leverage multiple sources to identify and qualify new leads, converting them into new business opportunities.
· Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and execute on sales strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
· Become proficient in Stepan's sales systems, tools, and CRM to monitor and improve sales performance.
· Mentor and advise other team members on prospecting and successful selling techniques.
· Monitor performance metrics and share key insights with commercial stakeholders.

Qualifications

· Minimum of 3-5 years of Inside Sales, Sales Development, or Technical Sales experience.
· Chemical industry experience preferred.
· Knowledge of consumer markets (Personal Care, Hard Surface Care, Laundry, Fabric Care) preferred.
· Experience with Salesforce.com and SAP preferred.
· On-site position at Stepan Headquarters, Northbrook, IL. Less than 10% travel.

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree required; science or science-business degree preferred

 

Pay Range: $75,000 - $109,000
The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
