Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano

Description

The successful candidate will build and sustain a strong piano studio and play an active role in the recruitment and retention of piano majors, and will collaborate with colleagues in the advancement of the keyboard area. The candidate will be expected to teach applied lessons in piano, including a weekly studio class, teach class piano, occasionally coach chamber music, oversee graduate teaching assistants, and teach upper-division and/or graduate-level courses in piano literature as needed. The candidate is expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession, to be productive as an artist/scholar, and to promote a welcoming learning environment. This position is contingent upon available funding.

Qualifications

* Doctorate or ABD 

* Applied teaching experience at the university level is preferred
