Position Summary

Presentation is seeking a Leadership Lab Director. The purpose of the role is to create a meaningful and comprehensive Leadership journey for the students. With an engaging and organized approach, the Leadership Director will plan and execute learning opportunities, applying that knowledge, and executing on events for students across the full community.  The Director is responsible for setting the curricular pathway, outlining expectations to the student leaders, and holding the student accountable to their leadership commitments in partnership with other school leaders. The Director will teach the morning Leadership/Student Council class and lead both in-school and after-school events of the program.


Duties and Specific Responsibilities

Leadership 

  • Model for students, faculty/staff, parents, and members of the community the mission and values of Presentation High School.
  • Work with the Vice Principal for Student Life & Athletics to execute a vibrant program that empowers the student leaders.
  • Determine and refine the student leadership curriculum, collaborating with the DEEDS Director and Vice Principal for Student Life & Athletics.
  • Administer Leadership training across Programs in partnership with Program Directors. 
  • Cultivate a group of student leaders to serve as representatives at community events. 
  • Manage and oversee the student council program.
  • Moderate weekly ASB and Student Council Meetings.
  • Plan workshops, conferences, and the morning Leadership course for the students.
  • Collaborate with the VP for Student Services on Advisory programming and calendar.
  • Re-establish the Big Sister program.
  • Calendar all meetings and activities of the Leadership Lab and ASB/Student Council.
  • Develop and manage the budget, including the inventory of supplies, for Leadership Lab and Student Council/ASB.
  • Teach a Panther Pathways (additional stipend) leadership course during each session (Fall & Spring).
  • Chaperone the annual ASB leadership conference during the summer. 
  • Possible opportunity to teach a course within the academic day. 

Activities

  • Coordinate the events and activities of ASB (Spirit Rallies, Spirit Week, Pan-Pan, Smash Out Stress Weeks, Mixers, Class Day, Club Day and others).
  • Curate and publish the weekly student bulletin.
  • Work in collaboration with the Admissions Office to support major student-facing enrollment/engagement activities (ie. 8th Grade Day, 7th Grade Day, Major Shadow Days).
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Service and Immersion to plan and support events (ie. Black and White Charity Ball, Holiday Drives, and Mission Drive)
  • Coordinate monthly student engagement activities during flex/lunch.
  • Coordinate Class Level Moderator meetings, and support the visioning and planning of Class Level events (ie. Junior Ring, Frosh Orientation, Senior Sunrise/BBQ, etc.)
  • Oversee and manage the clubs within our community, including the proposal and approval process, as well as the planning and execution of Club Day. 
  • Meet with Club Moderators and Officers to ensure alignment towards requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and updated rosters for the clubs, ensuring adherence to the guidelines for club existence and participation. 
  • Serve as the point person in planning New Student Orientation, partnering with the Student Services team and ASB leadership to design the program and activities.
  • Manage, plan, and oversee Prom, including budget and organizational meetings.
  • Promote Student Activities events in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team. 
Requirements

Education & Experience

  • B.A. degree is required.
  • Experience working with students outside of the classroom.
