The Job: The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, in the Planner function, manages, oversees, and controls the planned work process while following administrative procedures to create, review, prepare, and prioritize maintenance plans for predictive, preventive, routine, and scheduled activities to allow maintenance craftsmen to prepare for and safely perform each maintenance task efficiently and effectively. In the Scheduler function, is responsible for scheduling planned work with minimal interruption to production operations. This Scheduler is liaison between Maintenance and Production to ensure the discipline to work on the right equipment and determining the timing for execution in order to accomplish proactive planned work.
- Reviews the list of work order priorities, and complexities scope for work orders ready to be planned
- Determines labor and craft requirements, parts, materials, and special tool that are required to accomplish the work scope
- Responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining task lists in the CMMS system to determine if an available task list can be used for the scope of work or one is required for the work scope.
- Identifies and validates target dates, work conditions, Safety, and shutdown requirements for the work scope.
- Develops and maintains Maintenance Plans & Strategies (Time Based/Cycle/Cond. Based) as required.
- Responsible for the output of the planned maintenance work order planning process, including project planning (asset maintenance activities) will be a “fit-for-purpose” job packet which includes the requisites necessary for performing and completing the work scope in its entirety
- Communicates job package plan scope of work requirements to the storeroom and changes status of work order codes in CMMS system.
- Works with the storeroom to assist in maintenance work prioritization and scheduling
- Reviews job feedback from craftsmen to refine future job plan efficiency and effectiveness
- Adheres to role and responsibility in Stanely Black & Decker work execution model
- Facilitation of weekly planned work scheduling meeting with Maintenance, Operations and other supporting departments.
- Conduct a Daily Schedule Review meeting to determine the schedule status
- Reviews the backlog list, priorities, and “Ready To Schedule” work orders to proceed with scheduling
- Reviews work orders that requires asset or line downtime and coordinate the downtime with the are Production Managers and facilitates communication with maintenance
- Prepares preliminary schedule for the plant areas by integrating all PM work order types and sorting the work orders.
- Schedules and assigns the work integrating both the operations and maintenance's needs.
- Aligns work orders to schedule (resource loading and equipment selection), communicates/publishes finalized schedule, and maintains visibility of the schedule 7 days in advance.
- Generate metrics to demonstrate performance and drive improvements.

- Possession of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D) and Post-secondary education and/or technical trade degree required.
- 2-3 years of prior maintenance supervisor experience
- Planning Training accreditation preferred
- Proficient in CMMS experience (X5 preferred), MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
- Moderate level of oral and written communication skills is required to explain and interpret information, ideas, or make recommendations daily
- Strong research and administrative skills to utilize CMMS system, typing, MS Word and Excel
