In-Field Delivery Trainer (New Orleans)

In Field Delivery Trainer is responsible for the administration, coordination and development of Delivery Department training and safety programs, as well as serving as relief Delivery Supervisor for a high-volume wholesale distributor of beverage products.  This position will provide on-the-job training, skills development and evaluation for new and existing delivery department personnel.  Other duties may be assigned.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

• Must be at least 21 years of age;
• Valid Louisiana Class A or B driver's license and acceptable driving record; (if applicant does not have a Class A License, there will be a 90-day grace period to obtain the license);
• Undergraduate college degree or acceptable position-related experience level;
• Minimum of one (1) year of delivery experience,
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with little or no supervision;
• Maintain accurate training records and report progress to Manager.
• Assist in hiring process as directed by Manager.
• Maintain current knowledge on products, policies and promotions to ensure quality of training program.

• Promotes and observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials properly;
• Repeated bending, walking, standing, twisting and turning;
• Ability to drive a commercial vehicle for long periods of time and climb in and out of tractor/trailer;
• Able to continuously lift/carry at least 50 lbs. Able to push/pull heavy loads at least 240 lbs.
• Communicate departmental needs and issues to Manager daily.
• Assist Manager with accident and injury investigation and reporting as needed.
• Highly professional, with ability to interface well with internal and external contacts;
• Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both individually as well as part of a team;
• Needs to be self-motivated, have strong work ethic, and practice ethical conduct;

• Reports to work on a regular & timely basis, and ensures that work responsibilities are covered when absent;
• Extended hours may be required as service needs dictate;

• Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Internet software and have the ability to perform daily tasks on a computer, handheld device/and or tablet.

• Must have ability to consistently report to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts
