The Role:

Roquette is looking for our next Plant Maintenance Planner. The Plant Maintenance Planner will be responsible for identifying the necessary tasks, skills, resources (material, equipment, labor), acceptance criteria, and the sequence in which these steps should occur so essential maintenance activities can be completed in the safest manner, shortest time, and at the least cost. Planning, as an essential part of the work execution model, is a foundational element in the Roquette reliability excellence strategy. Some jobs require a minimal level of planning while others that are more complex require very detailed plans and advance coordination.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the maintenance craftsmen, external maintenance contractors and specialty vendors. The candidate will also be required to work closely with Operations, Engineering and Purchasing. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with the salaried maintenance staff in implementing the Roquette reliability excellence strategy. On-call and off-hour coverage responsibilities are a requirement of this position.

What You’ll Do:

  • Plan maintenance work notifications and contribute to planning major outages as required.
  • Perform field review of facilities and equipment for each request to understand the work environment and determine total scope of work
  • Lead shut down pre-briefs and debriefs relevant to work planned for the outage
  • Evaluate work requirements and assign appropriate execution resources (RAI craftsmen, Contractors, Specialty Vendors, etc.)
  • Estimate and document the cost of the work associated with each work order
  • Prepare documentation (drawings, specifications, standards, procedures, etc.), detailed list of craft labor skills, parts, material, safety and special equipment necessary to perform the work is identified
  • Oversee receipt material for planned work; ensure the availability of special tools, supplies and/or equipment needed to perform planned work
  • Prepare and issue material requests for Stores or Purchasing to obtain the necessary materials and assure the cost coding is correctly charged against the correct work order
  • Create, develop, and maintain the SAP task list library; prepare work packages, (precision work instructions, pictures, OEM manual procedures, etc.) using Microsoft Office and SAP tools, and store technical documentation as appropriate
  • Review completed work feedback forms and update job plans accordingly. Engage craftsmen in work execution model by soliciting feedback
  • Provide specialized craft training as requested

What You’ll Need:

Education:          

•      Associates or Technical Trade degree, or equivalent experience required     

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with refinery and/or mill precision repair work, planning techniques; and strong mechanical, pipefitting, electrical and/or controls aptitude
  • 3+ years in a mechanical craft, industrial millwright or mechanic experience, 5+ years preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of reliability excellence model desired.
  • Capable of reading and understanding P&I drawings & control schematics
  • Demonstrates behaviors including self-reliance, self-motivation, strong organization and structure skills, detail oriented, flexibility
  • Demonstrates ability to execute and/or manage small-scale projects effectively
  • Demonstrates good communication skills (oral and written), able to verbally engage craftspeople, peers, internal customers, management and contractors
