Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for a Network Inventory Build Analyst to join our team! The Network Inventory Build Analyst builds plant and network facilities in provisioning and inventory systems to complete service assignments. Loads network elements and logical inventory in support systems resulting from capital and expense work activity.  Assists multiple service groups by identifying plant facilities, preparing cut-sheets, updating, and maintaining record systems resulting from OSP (Outside Plant) or ISP (Inside Plant) work orders through completion of the build or maintenance.

As a Network Inventory Build Analyst your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining data integrity of inventory systems
  • Effectively partnering with all affiliate business units to obtain necessary network information 
  • Handling customer record assignment/switch gating to new equipment during cutovers
  • Creating cut-sheets for inside and outside facilities and participates in cutover activity
  • Occasionally, participates in first office application trials
  • May be assigned to specialized task or focus groups to efficiently support the direction of our Company
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision who can interpret Company Goals, Beliefs and Objectives and complete assignments effectively and efficiently and understands when to escalate issues and request assistance   

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Vocational training in a related field, i.e., computerized records management
  • One to two years of telecommunications experience or network fundamentals that demonstrate ability to interpret and work with plant facilities and related inventory systems
  • Fluent skills in Excel including building spreadsheets
  • Experience working with construction prints, cut sheets, cable schematics, location records/maps and/or Central Office equipment records
  • Working knowledge of technical requirements associated with service offerings, such as Data, VOIP, etc.  
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp new concepts quickly 
  • Experience within the last two years working on a computer software/business application that supports records inventory and data integrity 
  • Experience that demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to contribute positively to a team environment
  • Ability to work under tight timelines for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual deliverables
  • Willingness and availability to work Overtime as Business needs warrant
  • Working knowledge of XGSPON, NextGen and other Network solutions and equipment types
  • Familiarity with Network mapping tools, CAD layouts, route tracing and solutioning experience that can be used in troubleshooting alternative solutions in response to outages, workload cases and escalations
  • Working knowledge of various BSPD systems, such as IQGeo, BOSS-IM/OM, AMS, Optius and ODiN and the Microsoft Suite of products for managing and resolving tasks

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Experience in inventory systems, such as, MARTENS, LOOP Qual, NDS, ARMOR, eShop, DOCS, Ensemble, etc.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and represented by a union.  Depending upon the applicable collective bargaining agreement under which you may be hired, you may be: (a) required to join the union and pay union dues as a condition of employment; or, (b)  required to pay union dues, but not join the union as a condition of employment; or (c) free to choose whether to join the union, but if you do join the union you would be obligated to pay union dues
