Sterile Processing Department Tech - WCMC Sterile Processing - Full Time - 8 Hour - PM's

Job Description:

Performs all duties associated with sterile processing activities. This requires an in-depth knowledge of surgical instrumentation, standard sterilization practices and methods as well as medical terminology. Responsible for maintaining high standards for decontamination, assembly, inspecting, wrapping, sterilization, and dispatch of surgical instruments and medical equipment for Surgical Services, affected Ambulatory departments, and/or all Ancillary Departments. Works in conjunction with the OR staff and other departments to provide timely sterile products, trays, case carts, and supplies. The SPD Tech maintains quality, consistency and continuous workflow between the OR or department/clinic and Sterile Processing while practicing above average customer service.

Experience:

• 1 year Experience in a Sterile Processing Department or a Certificate from an accredited - Sterile Processing School - Required​

Certifications/Licensures:

• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) - HSPA - Required or

• CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) - CBSPD  - Required

Skills:

• Knowledgeable in sterile technique and the principles of aseptic practice - Required.

• Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude - Required.

• Critical thinking regarding job safety measures.

• A high degree of organizational skills, ability to set priorities, manage multiple demands and the ability to complete tasks under strict time lines - Required.

Work Shift:

08.0 - 15:00 - 23:30 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$31.93 - $39.51

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
