Mainframe Engineering - Tech Lead

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

• The identified person will provide Technical thought leadership around Mainframe Offering/Engineering space in what great look like and what it takes to take an idea, PoC, and/or pilot to in bring together all of the complementary work efforts
• The candidate will closely work with Engineering and the Offering leadership and ensuring the successful completion of Quarterly/Monthly Roadmap items as per agreement
• Align to DXC business priorities– align the strategy (6 key priorities) towards that by working with Offering and Engineering lead
• Good Technical understanding around LinuxOne / zLinux LPAR to support migration of x86 workloads to zLinux
• Good Technical understanding around z/OS operations Engineering and how to exploit the z/OS 3.1 operation features
• Technical Understanding migrate IMS-DB application to DB2 as part of the modern devOps enablement team
• Technical understanding and experience around Mainframe Automation using Python, Ansible & Github integration too
• Collaborate and Oversee the design and implementation of Mainframe solutions, emphasizing best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their growth.
• Contribute to the development of Mainframe strategies and project roadmaps.
• Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines.
• Ensure the effective utilization of automation and DevOps practices in cloud engineering.
  
   

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 15+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 3+   years in a similar role years of experience in software engineering and Mainframe engineering
• Proficiency in 1 or more software languages and development methodologies
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and/or projects
• Decent knowledge of cloud technologies and best practices
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
   

Other Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a related field a plus.
• Cloud certifications  (e.g., AWS, Azure) a plus
• Mainframe Modernization experience is a plus
