What Our Veterinary Assistants Do

  • Support veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with patient care and daily hospital operations
  • Assist with patient handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Gather patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces for patient care
  • Assist with diagnostic sample collection and laboratory procedures based on experience
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation and recovery
  • Help monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team
  • Assist with medications, treatments, and other patient-care tasks as directed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and teammates
  • Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital spaces clean, organized, and well stocked
  • Collaborate with the entire hospital team to maintain an efficient workflow and exceptional patient experience
