Job Description

AECOM Environment Team is seeking an experienced Industrial Stormwater/Wastewater Scientist.   This is a remote based role. 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Research, review, and analyze water quality policy and regulations.
• Lead regulatory compliance tasks relating to stormwater and wastewater management.
• Prepare and review Water Quality Management Plans, which communicate stormwater and wastewater regulations affecting the management of water sources at a facility.
• Prepare and review Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
• Review and assess compliance methodologies employed at a facility and provide feedback and creative solutions to reduce overall risk of non-compliance.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying sizes and complexity.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• B.S. Degree in Science or related plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• This role requires nationwide travel (50% of the time).

• Valid U.S. Driver's license is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong focus and attention to detail

• 10 years of experience focused on water quality compliance.

• Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that implement the Clean Water Act

• Strong writing, critical thinking, and reasoning skills

• Basic knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD software

• Mentorship Experience

• Experience consulting DOD clients

• Knowledge of DOD management practices as they relate to environmental compliance.

Additional Information

• Due to the nature of this role, U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is: $70,000 - $120,000.00.
