As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Providing network engineering expertise to the U.S Government supporting Akamai services and their implementations on Government networks.
• Engineering, managing , and implementing Akamai equipment and capabilities supporting Government programs providng operational continuity between Government and Akamai.
• Acting as Government's subject matter expert on Akamai technologies.
• Traveling to global Department of Defense facilities.
• Build network configurations.
• Documenting networks and device inventory

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field or 10 years equivalent experience
• Have 5 years of network engineering and programmatic experience
• Possess solid understanding of IP networking including, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, encapsulation, addressing protocols, VPN, MPLS
• Have experience with enterprise networks and DoD's NIPRNet and SIPRNet
• Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to build trusting relationships on a global team
• Be well versed of network security principles and practices
