Medical Assistant, Specialty Clinic

About the role

As a medical assistant you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care. You will support clinicians and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Take vitals and document findings in the patient chart
  • Review annual wellness questionnaire with appropriate patients
  • Administer immunizations
  • Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
  • Enter orders for laboratory services

 Required Qualifications:

  • Current CPR certification - must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with or without certification (AAMA or AMT) or current LPN (WI License required).
  • Clear and helpful communications skills, teamwork and positive interpersonal relationships skills  

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year medical assistant or LPN experience in a clinic preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients/families/clinic staff members
  • An ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions
  • Understanding of patient education needs able to effectively shared information with patients, family members and clinic staff as needed
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Experience with EPIC preferred
