What you’ll be responsible for

As a Senior Software Engineer at Circle, you’ll play a key role in elevating the developer experience across web2 and web3 ecosystems. You’ll lead the development of intuitive SDKs, developer tooling, and sample applications, as well as backend services that support external and internal developer audiences. Working closely with technical leads, cross-functional partners, and product teams, you will impact architectural decisions, refine engineering standards, and promote effective methods throughout the team. You’ll contribute to existing systems, shape new products before launch, and assess developer experiences with a critical lens—balancing deep web3 expertise with appreciation for web2 developers. Through mentorship, code reviews, and hands-on contributions, you’ll help ensure Circle delivers high-impact, developer-friendly solutions at scale.

What you’ll work on

• Design and implement SDKs, APIs, and developer tooling that are easy to use, performant, and well-documented

• Build and maintain customer-facing and internal applications that support developer workflows

• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver tools that simplify the developer journey

• Proactively evaluate and improve the developer experience of new and upcoming products

• Participate in architectural decisions, technical planning, and design reviews

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team-wide engineering standard processes

What you’ll bring to Circle

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including expertise in TypeScript/NodeJS and Python

• Strong background in building SDKs, APIs, and developer-facing tools

• Proven ability to craft and maintain scalable, production-ready software

• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product and design teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a remote-first environments

• Dedication to clean, well-tested code and continuous delivery practices

• Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite

• Familiarity with generative AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and crafting effective prompts

Preferred Requirements

• Experience developing in or integrating with web3 technologies and protocols<
