Senior Mechanical Development Engineer

<p><strong>Intracom Defense (IDE) </strong>is the leading defense company in Greece with significant international activity. <strong>IDE</strong> designs, develops and manufactures products and systems that incorporate advanced in-house developed technologies in the areas of Missile Electronics, Tactical Communication and Information Systems, Border and Area Security solutions, Hybrid Electric Power Systems and Unmanned Surface and Air platforms.</p> <p><strong>IDE </strong>is a registered NATO supplier and participates in international development and production programs, as well as in international collaborations for the production and export of defense equipment.</p> <p><strong>IDE</strong> is currently looking for a dynamic and talented <strong>Senior Mechanical Development Engineer</strong> to join the Mechanical Section of the Products Development Department.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>The <strong>Senior Mechanical Development Engineer</strong>'s position requires active participation in the mechanical design and development of state-of-the-art defense products. The successful candidate shall be involved in the development of defense projects encompassing the complete development cycle from system requirements specification, design, analysis, technical data package, prototype development, integration, prototype testing and installation, safety requirements, manufacturing processes, structural, thermal &amp; CFD simulations.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor/University Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline</li> <li>Postgraduate studies on a relevant technical area</li> <li>Proven working experience of several years in design and development projects</li> <li>Knowledge and understanding of the entire product development process</li> <li>Materials, tooling &amp; fabrication processes principles</li> <li>Linear &amp; Non-Linear Static and Dynamic Structural, Frequency Response, and Durability Analysis and Simulations of components &amp; systems using FEA</li> <li>Proficient with CFD analyses of airflow, Thermal Simulations of Electronic Systems, and Techniques for Thermal Management of Electronics</li> <li>Good knowledge of mechanical drawing rules and GD&amp;T principles</li> </ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and experience of various manufacturing processes and the constraints they impose on the design</li> <li>Previous experience on detailed mechanical design of military products &amp; systems</li> <li>Knowledge of MIL Stds, Ergonomic Design, and Product Safety requirements</li> <li>Familiar with the welding process &amp; welders qualification process, International and European Welding Stds EN ISO 3834, as well as with Visual &amp; NDT testing of weldments</li> <li>Work experience with SIEMENS NX CAD/CAE tool</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personal Characteristics:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, both in English and Greek</li> <li>Willingness to take initiative and motivation to drive results</li> <li>Very good planning and time-management skills</li> <li>High sense of accountability and great ability to work effectively both independently and within a team</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p><strong>INTRACOM DEFENSE</strong> offers:</p> <ul> <li>fast-paced working environment</li> <li>opportunities for continuous learning of state-of-the-art technology and career development</li> <li>competitive remuneration package directly dependent on the candidate's qualifications and experience</li> <li>group private medical insurance</li> <li>company bus from metro stations</li> <li>onsite dining facilities</li> </ul> <p>All applications will be treated with strict confidentiality.</p>
