Here’s what you will do:

  • Responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety-related operating conditions, including accident and near-miss reporting, as well as emergency response involvement at all levels. Safe work permitting and contract management during maintenance activities.

  • Foster high standards of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental stewardship. Model safe behavior based on safety principles.

  • Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.

  • Responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures associated with Department of Transportation (“DOT”) industry standards and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances.

  • No formal supervision exercised by this position; however, role may be required to provide basic guidance to contractors or less experienced employees.

  • Operate and maintain assigned compressor station, meter stations, and other pipeline facilities, as well as mainline block valve sites.

You can:

  • Perform Electrical, instrumentation, and controls functions; including independently performing installation, testing, repair, and maintenance on compressor station equipment and other facilities relevant to the pipeline system as required.

  • Troubleshoot, test, & maintain shutdown devices, fire & gas systems, auxiliary systems, HVAC systems, control valves, PLCs & control systems; Install & configure software in control systems.

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain gas chromatograph, other gas quality equipment, and flow meters, and conduct ultrasonic metering inspections.

  • Use of SCADA and Remote Access to monitor the station

  • Provide measurement system installation and startup services for all systems implemented on company pipeline systems.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting and repair services to Operations for all measurement related systems.

  • Maintain current knowledge of developments in Company and industry standards in gas measurement.

  • Provide quality control/inspections services on measurement systems to ensure integrity.

  • Collaborate with internal and external business associates/customers of all levels regarding measurement systems in a timely, substantiated, and professional manner.

  • Responsible for working within the Company low-voltage electrical safety work practices

  • Perform emergency repairs

  • Use of flow computer systems to view data, alarms, and perform transmitter calibrations

Who you are:

You have the following education and/or experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent 

  • Two years of directly relevant technical training and experience.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required.

  • Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, supporting team and company objectives, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as a Mechanical Technician.

  • General working knowledge of centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, exhaust systems, power turbines, gas compressors, utility air compressors, backup generators, valves, scrubbers, and valve actuators.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

  • Fully competent and current with all Health, Safety, and Environment
