The Warehouse Associate is responsible for planning and coordinating the prompt delivery of inbound and outbound materials. This individual will maintain inventory levels and organize the warehouse. Additionally, will prepare equipment/supplies for jobs and will train to be a backup for our Construction Warehouse Associate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and organize deliveries.
- Coordinate shipping or delivery of outgoing materials.
- Run parts/equipment to job sites or pickup supplies as necessary.
- Maintain minimum/maximum levels and advise when parts/equipment is needed.
- Track and maintain inventory of all parts and supplies in the warehouse.
- Assist with developing an inventory control system.
- Maintain a clean work environment in the warehouse.
- Assist with staging parts and/or supplies for each job as directed.
- Assembly of office equipment, parts, small tools, various component installations.
- Train to be a back-up to the Construction Warehouse Associate.
- Other duties as assigned, including some light facility maintenance.
Requirements
- Warehouse experience that includes working with construction materials and/or mechanical parts
- General mechanical background is very helpful
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Windows 2007
- Forklift experience and certification
- Ability to operate various types of equipment
- Clean driving record
- Desire and ability to obtain class A CDL (will train)
- Tolerate changes in outside temperature from, winter to summer and to tolerate dust, pollen, wind, snow and rain
- Inter-Relationships: Works directly with all office personnel, interacts with vendors and all levels of company personnel.
Working Conditions
- Warehouse environment, moderate lifting up to 50 lbs. with occasional heavier weights required up to 90 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics by crawling, bending, reaching, twisting.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to work while standing 80 - 90% of the time.
- Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
- Hand and finger dexterity to carry and to use tools and equipment as necessary.
