Examples of duties
This position provides direct, person-centered care that supports the health, safety, and daily comfort of residents at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:
- Resident Support: Assist residents with daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, meals, and mobility based on individual care plans
- Safety Practices: Maintain a safe environment by reporting concerns and following all facility policies and procedures
- Care Monitoring: Observe resident conditions, gather basic health data, and communicate changes to nursing staff
- Room Upkeep: Help keep resident rooms clean, organized, and comfortable to support an inviting setting
- Transport Assistance: Escort or move residents to appointments or activities using approved equipment
- Documentation Duties: Record care activities and services on required forms in accordance with regulations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch. All shifts offer rotating days. Every other weekend is required.
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
