Advanced Systems Group LLC is seeking an experienced Audio & Visual Technician to join our high-performing team.The AV Technician is a hands-on role responsible for setting up, operating, and supporting AV systems for live streams, hybrid meetings, town halls, and internal events. This person will serve as the on-site execution lead, working closely with internal stakeholders and remote production teams to deliver high-quality audiovisual experiences.Ideal candidates have experience supporting live events in corporate environments and are confident in operating AV equipment, troubleshooting issues in real-time, and communicating clearly with clients and technical teams.
This role will report on-site to the client's office, located in The Loop, Chicago. Responsibilities:
Event Execution & Live Support
- Set up and operate AV systems for events, executive meetings, and live streams.
- Support video and audio routing, camera operation, signal flow monitoring, and comms systems.
- Execute live or hybrid event workflows using platforms such as Zoom, Meet, or custom webcasting tools.
- Ensure all technical elements are functioning ahead of live events, including mics, speakers, projectors, and switching gear.
- Follow run-of-show documentation and escalate issues quickly to remote engineering teams if needed.
- Perform daily room and system checks to confirm readiness.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and on-the-spot troubleshooting of AV systems.
- Maintain clean and organized cable routing, gear setups, and control surfaces.
- Assist in labeling, moving, and inventorying equipment under supervisor guidance.
- Interface with on-site clients, internal teams, and ASG staff in a professional and responsive manner.
- Follow standard operating procedures and document incidents or issues for post-event review.
- Coordinate with remote AV managers or producers to align on show cues and responsibilities.
- 3+ years of AV experience, preferably in a corporate, hybrid event, or broadcast environment.
- Strong hands-on skills with audio, video, and presentation systems.
Comfortable operating PTZ cameras, switchers, audio consoles, routers, and signal processors. - Familiarity with event platforms (Zoom, Teams, Meet, vMix, OBS, WebEx, etc.)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in technical environments requiring standing, reaching, or light rigging. - Strong communication and follow-through, especially during time-sensitive event execution.
