Role Summary:

In this role you will leverage your extensive legal knowledge to test, train, and validate both internal and customer-facing AI solutions, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of AI-driven projects. The successful candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to enhancing the intersection of law and technology.

About the Role: 
In this opportunity as an AI Attorney Editor you will:  

  • Provide guidance for the architecture, development, testing, assessment, and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies and validate that the final approach satisfies defined criteria. 
  • Leverage legal knowledge and experience to train and optimize artificial intelligence models by, among other things, annotating documents to build training data and crafting and fine-tuning prompts for Gen AI models. 
  • Prioritize the work required across all teams involved in the development of AI solutions and understand the roles and responsibilities of each collaborator/team member and how each role impacts the work.  
  • Test and validate AI solutions by working across teams to create gold data, and test and grade model outputs.     
  • Document processes and define metrics for successful development of AI solutions. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of fundamental AI and machine learning concepts, and the ability to accurately and concisely explain the law in a way that enables machine learning. 
  • Demonstrate competence on company specific systems necessary to perform your job functions. 
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to develop and execute product programs and initiatives supporting the latest artificial intelligence and legal technology solutions on the market.    

About You: 
You’re a fit for the role of AI Attorney Editor if you have/are: 

  • Law degree from accredited law school 
  • Practice experience or legal editorial experience, or equivalent, strongly preferred 
  • A passion for developing, applying, and refining artificial intelligence and other technologies to solve our customers’ problems 
  • Self-starter with aptitude for legal research and writing, including experience using Westlaw and/or Practical Law and other products used for legal research 
  • Analytical thinker who uses logic and collaboration to solve difficult problems 
  • Decisive with a focus on making quality decisions efficiently and productively 
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex legal material 
  • Comfortable working in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects and pursue them with energy and drive 
  • A positive teammate who is flexible and adaptable and will work successfully in a shared environment 
  • Strong communicator who can speak and write clearly and effectively with all contacts, both in and outside Thomson Reuters. 
  • Proficiency in and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
