Zocdoc’s mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across +200 specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. In doing so, we can make healthcare work like every other consumer sector, where businesses compete for customers, not the other way around. In time, this will drive quality up and prices down.

Your Impact on our Mission

Zocdoc’s greatest asset is its people. As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal and transformative role in revolutionizing healthcare by architecting and delivering highly impactful products that meet the complex needs of both providers and patients. You'll drive technical strategy and execution across multiple initiatives, collaborating deeply with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data, and Design, to bring groundbreaking features to market, driving Zocdoc's mission forward. You'll provide exceptional technical leadership, establish architectural patterns, and significantly influence the technical direction of the organization, mentoring engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence and best practices.

Your day to day is…

• Taking ultimate technical ownership of Zocdoc’s expansion into several new and innovative offerings, including defining technical roadmaps, leading complex prototyping efforts, and spearheading 0-1 projects that span across Zocdoc’s entire technology stack.
• Analyzing and decomposing highly complex and ambiguous product challenges to drive sound, scalable, and forward-thinking architectural and design decisions.
• Working hands-on with your team and personally contributing to and guiding the shipping of production code using C#, React, AWS technologies to millions of users, often autonomously or leading small pods.
• Collaborating with our agile team of dedicated and brilliant engineers, product managers, and designers, often acting as the primary technical liaison for major initiatives.
• Mentoring your peers and colleagues at all levels by giving thoughtful feedback, with the notion that helping others means learning and growing yourself, and developing future technical leaders.
• Continuously improving our ability to deliver quality solutions through evolving engineering process, advocating for technical capabilities, and driving strategic investments in our platforms.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

• Successfully architected and shipped high-impact, complex, user-facing products that have seen significant adoption, with deep expertise across multiple areas of the technology stack and complex system integrations.
• Demonstrated history of excepti
