Position Summary:
The Corporate Sales Manager is responsible for proactively driving corporate group business to the resort by developing relationships with local, regional and national corporate clients. The Corporate Sales Manager will focus on maximizing revenue through room sales, meeting space bookings and ancillary services including spa, culinary experiences and catering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to target and secure new corporate group accounts.
- Manage existing accounts to grow repeat business and increase client satisfaction.
- Conduct outside sales calls, client site inspections, sales blitzes and trade show participation to generate leads.
- Prepare and present customized proposals and contracts that align with client needs and resort offerings.
- Work collaboratively with Banquets & Catering, Events and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group events.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activity in the CRM system.
- Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue goals in assigned corporate segment.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings and pricing strategies to remain competitive.
- Represent The Essex Resort & Spa professionally at industry functions and networking events.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings and contribute to departmental planning and forecasting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of sales experience in a hotel or resort, with a focus on the corporate/group segment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Knowledge of the New England corporate market is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends and travel as needed.
