Safety & Environmental Health Manager

SUMMARY

Paragon Professional Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Safety & Environmental Health Manager for West Texas. This position will be assisting with writing plans, safety training, enforcing safety programs, and other duties as assigned. Manages, monitors, and advises Project Manager on all matters related to the Health and Safety of personnel and issues affecting/ impacting the Environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

• Travel to job sites to conduct a variety of safety related inspections / tasks
• Review safety procedures and processes with team members onsite (Activity Hazard Analysis)
• Certain jobs may require a substantial safety presence
• Attend meetings as required
• Assist with writing/reviewing/submitting safety documents for Government approval
• Ensure regulatory compliance (i.e. OSHA, EM385 1-1, NFPA, ATSSA, ANSI) at the jobsite level

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• OSHA Safety & Environmental Health Program Certification 
• 2-3 years’ experience managing Safety & Environmental Health Programs
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field.

• Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure
  compliance with Government safety regulations and industry standards
• Identify potentially hazardous biological, chemical and radiological materials
• Develop various safety program presentations for deliver at musters and during training.
• Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health
  problems through the use of safety and health training programs
• Investigate accidents to identify their causes and recommend preventative measures.
• Conduct Quality Assurance Inspections with the Quality Assurance Manager/Officer with
  respect to Safety & Environmental Health PBNDS/ACA Standards.
