Senior Systems Administrator - TS/SCI

General Description:HRL is seeking an experienced Windows Systems Administrator to join the Special Programs IT team in Malibu, CA. The successful candidate will collaborate with other systems administrators located in Malibu and at various locations throughout the United States. A willingness to continue learning new technologies is a must. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance and experience in classified programs is required.
Essential Duties:Work with multi-disciplined team members under general supervisionProvide a friendly and professional point of contact for customersPerform independent troubleshooting of complex incidentsPerform a multi-disciplined range of technical system and application activitiesInstall, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and componentsAdminister and manage Windows and Linux systems in the operations, engineering, analysis, and test environmentsAdminister installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device managementResolve a wide variety of complex system failures, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problemsPerform system and user account maintenanceTest and assess security configuration of Windows serversMonitor, evaluate, and optimize system performanceAnalyze, test, and implement security patches and hardeningDocument maintenance & ticketing actionsDevelop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelinesIf required, assist in IT security incident response and documentation
Required Skills:Experience in Windows systems administrationUnderstanding of multiplatform system hardening (e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP)Strong understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environmentsExperience with scripting for task automation (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, BASH)Proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trends (e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk)Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing)Experience with system monitoring & alerting tools (e.g., Nagios)Experience working within an accredited systemAbility to work independentlyA current Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required

Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
Special Requirements:This position is 100% on-site. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, and in some cases, with little to no advance notice. This job will also require up to 10% travel.This position requires that the applicant selected be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance. The applicant must also successfully complete a polygraph.This position requires that the applicant obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire.As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access, which is subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures.
