Job Description
*Note: This position is a fixed-term position, and will have an end date of July 25th, 2025*

Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with tax issues, payroll tax credits including the Employee Retention Tax Credit, and resolving claim disputes with the IRS on behalf of clients.

What you’ll be doing
- Collaborate with other leaders on this multi-year, major strategic initiative to build a new business
- Manage and train a team of tax consultants
- Manage specific client relationships
- Manage active client projects which includes project deadlines, staffing, billing, etc.
- Provide clients with tax consulting and guidance
- Help clients improve tax processes and procedures
- Help clients identify, assess, and secure tax refunds
- Provide clients with M&A support to satisfy reporting requirements and secure savings
- Provide federal and state audit support services
- Engage with federal, state, and local taxing authorities to follow up on and/or resolve client matters
- Identify, and manage tax risk in a thoughtful, wise, and logical manner
- Engage in thought leadership and demonstrate comfort engaging in difficult conversations
- Quickly grasp new concepts and learn a new business
What your background looks like:
- 5+ years of tax consulting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to think critically in complex situations
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, take initiative and prioritize multiple work items
- Ability to remain flexible and comfortable with ambiguity within a very demanding and constantly changing environment
- Comfortable presenting to clients on complicated payroll tax matters
- Experience managing transformative initiatives
- Knowledge of payroll tax management systems
- Proven ability to manage client tax deadlines
- Experience analyzing payroll data, client workpapers, and tax forms
- Comfortable with tax legislation, IRS rules/regulations, and general tax research
