Director, Cloud and Infrastructure Services

This position will join the CIO’s current team of technology leaders and will be responsible for managing and improving DATEX’s IT environment of on-prem infrastructure and cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. This environment is a critical component for DATEX to be the leading global provider of innovative supply chain technology solutions. DATEX’s Cloud environment enables DATEX to lean into the next challenge, imagining the next breakthrough, and designing the next innovation.

Overview:

Reporting to the CIO and accountable to other organizational leaders the Director, Cloud and Infrastructure Services will help foster and establish a proactive, innovation driven mindset comprising of:

• Collaborating with product development teams and partnership with IT will be critical as we must ensure the Cloud environment can rapidly scale services to meet customer demand. This will require developing the effective processes and tools to maximize success, identify and prioritize potential Cloud workloads, assisting with governance for ongoing compliance, continued Cloud cost management, along with developing and testing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Assist in leveraging the Problem Resolution Process to ensure future similar events do not occur.
• This role will play a pivotal part in driving the company's technology infrastructure forward. You will lead a team of talented professionals responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud solutions and foundational IT infrastructure. Your strategic thinking, technical expertise, and leadership abilities will be crucial in ensuring that our systems remain cutting-edge, adaptable, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Strategy and Adoption:

Develop and execute the company's cloud strategy, identifying opportunities to leverage cloud technologies for enhanced efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud solutions that align with business goals and requirements.

Design and implement infrastructure architecture to improve efficiency, performance and reliability of our Cloud environment

Provide ongoing analysis of current Cloud spend as well as recommend and implement proactive Cloud cost management actions.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices in cloud computing and infrastructure.

Infrastructure Architecture and Management:

Driving ground-breaking improvements in networking, R&D infrastructure and management, and personal computing.

Lead the design and implementation of robust and scalable IT infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud.

Oversee the maintenance and optimization of existing infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and performance.

Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical systems and data.

Partner with the DATEX business functions and collaborate with IT Shared Services, ensuring SLAs are met and any Priority 1/Critical Incidents are resolved to minimize business impact.

Team Leadership and Management:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of cloud architects, engineers, and infrastructure specialists.

Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and facilitate professional development to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing across teams to enhance collective expertise.

Vendor and Partner Management:

Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate, select, and manage technology solutions and services that align with business requirements.

Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure vendors are delivering value.

Security and Compliance:

Champion security best practices and ensure the implementation of robust security measures across the technology landscape.

Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements relevant to cloud and infrastructure services and ensure adherence.

Partnering with DATEX Cybersecurity and Compliance experts and ensure ongoing compliance of systems and data across all environments (Back Office, R&D, customer facing, etc.).

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the budget for cloud and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while meeting business needs.

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required.
• 10+ years of managing complex IT environments to include on-prem and Cloud (Azure, VMWare, etc.).
