Technology Manager, RAN & Core

We are bringing hybrid cellular - satellite connectivity to ordinary cellular devices.   We have an open opportunity to join our team as a Technology Manager, onsite, in Espoo, Finland to develop and maintain technology assets and partnerships for a next generation Satellite IoT network.   This role is highly cross-functional, working across the customer engineering, software engineering and business development teams. Responsibilities: 

• You are a network (system) professional, with passion to support and engage Skylo’s chipset & mobile device partners - including some of the biggest names in the industry
• You will have the opportunity to grow to manage and shape the evolution of Skylo Radio Access Network & Core Network technology portfolio
• You will lead and facilitate Skylo’s integration, validation and tech management activities with partners in device and chipset domains
• Champion and maintain processes & best-practices to streamline integration tasks
• Maintain strict quality standards, being able to measure, monitor and proactively respond
• Provide subject matter knowledge in the areas of licensed LTE/5G macro/small cell solutions, telecom-services, mobile packet core, security, and virtualization solutions
• Responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting issues reported from labs through testing activities with partners
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with partners, vendors and Skylo stakeholders

Requirements:

• You are passionate about shaping the next frontier of communications - satellite - where nobody is out of coverage
• You have relevant degree in Electrical, Electronics or Communication Engineering or equivalent technical discipline is preferred
• 3+ years of network systems engineering experience
• Strong knowledge in LTE NB-IoT and 5G protocols and their evolution
• Familiar with core system interfaces and protocols such as S1-MME, S1-U, S6a, S11, S5/S8, Rx, NAS, S1-AP, RRC, GTPv2c, GTP-U
• Familiar with Policy and Charging elements of the packet core: PCEF, PCRF, PAS,OFCS, OCS
• Familiar with GTPv2, Diameter, LDAP protocol & AVPs
• Familiar with 3GPP Mobility Specifications applicable to Packet Core Infrastructure Nodes: SGW, PGW
• Familiar with test tools including protocol analyzers, Wireshark, Channel Simulators, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, etc.
• Good to have: Working experience in Lab testing and IoT testing
• Good to have: experience with wireless system debugging, wireless protocol analysis tools, Linux systems, Cloud (GCP preferred), Virtualization and Containerization technologies (Kubernetes preferred)
• You are highly collaborative, with excellent communication skills
