We have an immediate opportunity for a Interim (Summer) Site Director to lead our team at our YouthCOR Summer Camp location at

Carnell Elementary School in Philadelphia (19111)

This is full-time, summer/temporary position

Minimum Pay Rate - $21.15/hour

Work hours: Mondays through Fridays 8:30am – 4:30pm

Camp runs June 12, 2025, through August 1, 2025*

*Camp staff must be available to work all days of training and the camp session

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

All CORA team members are expected to uphold the mission, vision and values of CORA Services which includes valuing all individuals and supporting each individual’s potential for growth

In addition, as the Interim (Summer) Site Director duties will include:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with school administration, teachers, families and other stakeholders to ensure program visibility and community support
  • Completing administrative duties to ensure smooth program delivery
  • Designing high quality, fun and engaging programing in literacy, STEAM and social emotional learning
  • Creating a safe environment for all staff and students through sound practices and complying with agency policies and procedures
  • Supervising and coaching a team of 5-10 camp counselors to serve as role models and advocates for program participants

 What we’re looking for:

  • An individual who cares about making an impact in the lives of young people, and who has a desire to grow and develop as a leader in education/child care
  • A leader with a positive attitude and who is enthusiastic about providing students with an amazing experience every day
  • An individual who prioritizes safety and supervision during program time

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education, social work or other relevant discipline; additional college credits or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Verifiable experience working with children in a school, summer camp, recreational program, after school/OST program, or other setting
  • Effective communication and organization skills; ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative work relationships with students, families and other stakeholders
  • Background clearances required (can be done at CORA’s expense and we can accept clearances completed within the last 6 months)
  • Pre-employment health and tuberculosis screening required (we can accept documentation of health screening & TB testing completed within the last 6 months)
  • Ability to attend all days of training and work the full camp session
  • Reliable transportation to/from work
