The AM/OPS Manager is an innovative leader at American Express Meetings & Events, responsible for retaining and driving incremental revenue and driving operational excellence for a dedicated client. The primary focus of the is to develop and expand client relationships and operational excellence to retain, grow and ensure profitability for assigned client. To drive innovative, revenue-focused solutions and ensure service delivery the AM/OPS Manager will be responsible for:
What You'll Do
- Develop an account level strategy targeting opportunities for assigned client.
- Implement the revenue growth strategies to drive incremental revenue through a combination of increased meetings, premium product revenue, advisory consulting, supplier relations initiatives and meetings management.
- Research the marketplace and competitor products and services to highlight the value that distinguishes Amex GBT products, and specifically uses MI, benchmarking, and technology as critical value drivers.
- Drive strategies crafted to increase revenue and drive customer behavior at a scalable level. Work with leaders to implement new and build ways to grow the business.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of key business drivers, organizational culture, and the competitive position of the client, understanding broad issues and the competitive landscape when driving sales strategies.
- Build, maintain, and expand relationships with internal business partners across the B2B organization, using key partnerships within Client Servicing, Business travel partners and Advisory/Consulting services, to drive growth and the implementation of innovative, value account solutions.
- Lead business planning, quarterly and annual reviews, pricing strategies, and business negotiations on rebids for strategic accounts.
- Lead Team Leader to ensure sourcing managers, meeting managers, and attendee managers meet/exceed client expectations and SLAs.
- Contribute to content development for client innovation forums, and supports agenda ideas and content, guest speakers, panelists, and facilitators specific to driving premium revenue.
- Research the marketplace and competitor products and services to highlight the value that distinguishes GBT products, and specifically demonstrates MI, benchmarking, and technology as critical value drivers.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers, organizational culture and the competitive position of clients.
- Lead the global efforts of assigned client, which includes guiding the regional market leads in their efforts to support the client global goals/initiatives.
- Lead expansion efforts to deliver multiple revenue streams and further penetrate accounts, with a focus on driving expansion of premium revenue.
- Growing profitability by proactively identifying new opportunities and delivering innovative solutions that continue to contribute to our clients.
- Develop creative pricing strategies and contributing to ongoing client P&L management.
- Leading business planning, C-Level executive reviews, quarterly and annual reviews, and business negotiations on rebids for strategic accounts.
- Improve the American Express Global Business Travel value proposition through policy consultation, researching white paper needs, technology road mapping, optimizing online solutions, and event content development.
- Positive Relationship building skills with Clients.
What We're Looking For
- M&E Operations, i.e., SOP creation, meeting technology knowledge (Cvent), SLA management
- Deep global M&E subject matter expertise with demonstrated track record of driving growth, leading a service focused operation, handling a P&L, and crafting a destination for talent.
- Demonstrated skill and successful track record in growing client revenue.
- Previous leadership experience at Regional / Local Operational and/or Commercial M&E
- Experience of multiple industry clients and account types (Dedicated, Designated, Variable Labor, Commission Retention, etc.)
- Must have 3 to 5 years of global account/client management experience with a focus on operations.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, understand, and articulate key product and value proposition knowledge in a variety of contexts.
- Shown success in consultative selling is required, in addition to demonstrated success growing client revenue and profitability.
