We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Technical Aide to support our Patriot Software Development Team in ensuring the smooth execution of technical processes and project workflows. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, organizational skills, and the ability to assist with project coordination and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will work closely with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to facilitate the team's success in delivering high-quality software solutions.
What You Will Do
- Assist the Software Development Team with technical tasks such as managing software tools, troubleshooting minor issues, and maintaining version control repositories (e.g., Git).
- Support the team in setting up, configuring, and maintaining development environments, tools, and systems.
- Help document technical processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Coordinate code reviews, sprint planning sessions, and daily stand-ups, ensuring all required materials and tools are prepared.
- Track progress on deliverables and assist in updating project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) with accurate data.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for development tools and escalate more complex technical issues to the appropriate team members.
- Organize and maintain a repository of team resources, including code libraries, technical documentation, and project artifacts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth communication and integration of tools or systems across departments.
- Monitor and report on team metrics such as sprint velocity, backlog health, and defect rates to assist in continuous improvement efforts.
- Support onboarding of new developers by setting up accounts, tools, and providing introductory guidance on team workflows.
Qualifications You Must Have
- HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical support, project coordination, or similar role within a technical environment.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, or Microsoft Teams.
- Experience in database creation and computer data entry
- The ability to obtain and maintain a secret U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active Secret Clearance
- Ability to document processes clearly and train others on release practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and MS Word
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with Version Control repositories (e.g., Perforce, GIT, Clearcase)
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Familiarity with basic scripting or programming concepts (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and workflows.
