Job Description

  

Teledyne Microwave Solutions has over 50 years of experience in the design, development, and manufacture of sophisticated microwave/RF components and integrated assemblies for the most demanding challenges. Our products and capabilities are sought after by civilian and military organizations spanning numerous global markets, including Aviation, Communication, Electronic Warfare (EW/ECM/CIED), Industrial, Missile/UAV, Radar, Satcom, Space, and Test and Measurement. Teledyne Microwave Solutions invests heavily in research and development to maintain the ability to offer the world’s most advanced MW/RF capabilities for current and emerging challenges.

We would like a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Mountain View. This position is full-time, onsite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develops and implements the supplier qualification and monitoring program including surveys, on-site assessments, quarterly supplier scorecard, and follow-up activities. Evaluates suppliers’ business practices and overall performance, providing periodic feedback and recommendations for improvement
• Qualifies suppliers according to company standards, adding qualified suppliers to the organization’s Approved Supplier List; Administers the supplier source inspection program to ensure cost effectiveness, and the quality of parts delivered; Manages the quarterly supplier scorecard program for suppliers identified as critical to the business based on technology, spend, and risk
• Partners with suppliers to develop and/or optimize new manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment. This may include alignment to TMS requirements, material, process and equipment selection, and tooling, fixture, and equipment installation
• Provides guidance regarding technical and quality compliance for supplier quality engagement throughout the lifecycle on newly qualified parts; implements strategies for driving product quality and continuous improvement, ensuring purchased products and components are manufactured and qualified as per applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements
• Serves as a liaison to Engineering, Purchasing, Quality and suppliers for technical background to continual improvement efforts, supplier relationships, root cause corrective action investigations, and related audits
• Evaluates multiple supplier performance metrics to identify trends, propose continual improvement initiatives, and lead initiatives through to implementation and closure; reports performance measures, levels, and trends for all aspects of supplier performance at quarterly business reviews and other meetings as required
• Manages the non-conformance process, for containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions ensuring timely review, approval, and disposition; reviews and approves recommended nonconformance dispositions
• Investigates product- and/or process-focused quality concerns with key mechanical and electrical suppliers; Manages the Supplier Corrective Action Process ensuring on-time response and implementation
• Leads small teams through continual improvement efforts to reduce component, sub-assembly, and system-level defects, includes collaborating with supplier(s), operations, and engineering, to reach a workable solution
• Other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned


Minimum Experience and Requirements
• AS / BS in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in electronics or electro-mechanical product quality assurance
• 5+ years’ experience in an ISO-9001 certified Quality Management System
• 3+ years’ experience performing remote and onsite audits of suppliers – initial qualification, on-going performance assessments, and to confirm successful corrective action implementation
