About the role

Experience & Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved
  • RHIA certification strongly preferred program. ICD-9 CM coding knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Medical Record Science principles, supervisory/management principles, legal requirements pertaining to health record information, professional ethics, regulatory agency requirements/ standards.
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in medical records and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Effective time management skills

A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities

Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Medical Records (ART) Supervisor at YesCare:

Location: Montgomery, Al at the Kilby Detention Center

  • Supervise all medical record activities and personnel pertinent to the assigned area. Assist in policy/procedure/system development. Implement established policies/procedures/ systems to provide efficient medical record services.
  • Assists in policy/procedure/system development.
  • Implements established policies/procedures systems to provide efficient Medical Record services.
  • Ensures Medical Record information confidentiality through appropriate release of Medical Record documentation.
  • Ensures Medical Record availability.
  • Ensure that all medical record equipment is maintained. Prepare and submit supply/equipment requisitions for approval to Administrator.
  • Prepares and submits routine and special statistical reports.
  • Prepares and participates in inter- and intra-departmental in-service education programs.
  • Assures the timely, accurate transcription of dictated medical information.
  • Assures medical record completion
  • Carries out defined standards, legal requirements, and regulations of regulatory agencies, government authorities, professions, and Correctional Medical Services.
  • Performs other tasks required to carry out functions of the Medical Record Department and Health Services Unit as requested.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
