Pharmacy Student Intern

Under the mentorship and guidance of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Student Intern executes the tasks of a pharmacy technician or technician specialist in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. S/he performs a variety of duties and technical tasks structured to assist the pharmacist, patients, pharmacy technician specialist, and other healthcare providers as well as the entire medication distribution system for hospital patients. 

Education

High School diploma or GED required. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school for Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Licensure/Certification

Registered Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Intern through the MD State Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of hire.

Experience

Pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Skills

Basic computer/keyboard skills. Good understanding of experience with medical terminology.  Able to participate in all aspects of drug distribution, communicate with other hospital employees, and prioritize work based on acuity/need.
