Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for directing the activities related to the execution of new product development projects as well as sustaining engineering projects within BD UCC. The position will be required to interface with all project stakeholders at BD UCC, including stakeholders at multiple sites (e.g. regulatory affairs, quality assurance, labeling, etc.), to develop the appropriate timelines and ensure the assembled teams can successfully execute the assigned projects.

Urology & Critical Care (UCC) is one of the fastest growing business units in the BD-Interventional Segment, and has 4 platforms – Acute Urology, Endo Urology, Home Care and Targeted Temperature Management.

UCC employs more than 1,000 people around the world and is headquartered in Covington, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. The company has engineering design centers in Atlanta, Denver, Ireland, China & India, as well  as numerous manufacturing facilities, located in US, Malaysia, and Mexico.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The BD Urology and Critical Care (UCC) division is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead one of the high-growth New Product Development (NPD) programs in the UCC R&D group. This program is one of the top NPD programs across the BDX corporation with CEO level transparency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;

The Senior Project Manager is principally responsible for:

  • Leading development & execution of NPD programs and/or projects, through all the phases & stage gates for successful commercialization of Class 1, 2 & 3 medical devices.

  • Direct responsibility for project/program scope, schedule & budget(s) to balance business deliverables within resource and time constraints.

  • Actively identifying & managing project risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.

  • Ensure Design Control requirements are met for the project and is responsible for Design History File.

  • Interface, communicate and coordinate activities with all BD UCC cross-functional partners, across multiple BD and/or 3rd-party sites.

QUALIFICATIONS

Senior project manager for NPD and SE programs and projects within BD UCC. Leads Medical Device Capital Equipment or Disposable Device programs and projects. Responsible for team meetings and generation of meeting minutes. Responsible for technical design reviews and phase gate reviews. Responsible for communication of team objectives, milestones, and progress Owner of Planview project status updates. Preparation of corporate and BD reports and new product development presentations. Develop and track project budgets. Work with Finance on financial models, budget tracking spreadsheets and reports. Prepare and track capital equipment expenditure requests & budgets. Ensure compliance to Corporate and Division product development policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences or equivalent. MBA preferred.

  • Seasoned professional with 6-8 years proven project management experience in medical device industry

  • Demonstrated success as a program/project manager, leading NPD projects, and launching Medical Device Capital Equipment products.

  • Experience leading software & hardware development efforts
