Leader of Enterprise Project Management Office, Director
SUMMARY:
84.51°’s purpose is “to make people’s lives easier,” and the Strategy Office embodies that purpose by acting as a bridge between strategy development and delivery across the organization, serving as a connector of people and teams to provide the best opportunity for successful value delivery. The Enterprise PMO nests within our Strategy Office and focuses on unlocking the value of the ‘big picture’ by empowering enterprise execution. We are seeking a talented leader to help us advance the maturity and impact of our Project Management Office (PMO) to support the demands of our growth-oriented business. A successful candidate is one that can both drive a portfolio of delivery excellence and inspire and enact a future growth vision of an Enterprise PMO function.
At the core of this role, this leader will drive five initial priorities with the Enterprise PMO team.
- Lead a team of Program and Project Managers in delivering the highest value, strategic projects for the enterprise with excellence
- Mature our project intake, resourcing, and prioritization process, balancing the needs of the enterprise against PMO talent and development opportunities
- Develop and advance best-in-class methods in delivering project management excellence across project governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and leading change adoption
- Implement defined benefits realization framework, measuring projects based on enterprise value and ensuring end-to-end project performance is tracked and transparent
- Investing-in, growing and developing the Enterprise PMO team
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities of this role are below:
- Partner with the Portfolio Management function and business leaders to ensure PMO led projects are sized (for resources), quantified, prioritized, and that business cases are developed for approved projects. Ensure tracking of project performance to these business cases is transparent and visible throughout the project and after project completion.
- Lead the development and advancement of 84.51 project methods that will enable consistency, transparency, accountability, and measurable value realization across the enterprise. Engage with PMO Subject Matter Experts and key business partners to craft executive reporting and communications around the health and effectiveness of projects and programs. Heavy focus will be on project planning, value scoring, establishing project reviews / cadences, project progress tracking, reporting and transparency.
- Promoting the PMO. Evolve the role of the PMO in the organization by 1) refining and sharing its unique value proposition with the business lines, and 2) driving and sharing project results with the company and lines of business.
- Develop and grow the PMO team. Build PMO capabilities, cross train associates, enable PMO associates to develop business line expertise, and create PMO associate career paths.
- Collaborate with the Product / Agile Delivery team to optimize enterprise delivery capabilities; share and apply learnings to make the enterprise more productive, predictable, and accountable across delivery capabilities.
Recognizing that many of these responsibilities are focused on working and collaborating with various business lines and functions within 84.51°, this role will report to the Strategy Office Vice President and have the full support of the Strategy Office team.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in portfolio, project, process and change management, with complex engagements.
- Experience leading a PMO or similar function is required, and highly prefer a candidate who has established an enterprise function/department
